About
The Tokyo Financial Innovation Award, commissioned by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, is a prestigious competition designed to spur innovation within the financial sector by tackling key challenges faced by residents and businesses in Tokyo. This award invites global participants to propose creative and practical solutions to specific financial issues that have been identified within the local community.
Applications are evaluated on their alignment with the selected themes, technological innovation, viability of the business model, and overall feasibility. Successful applicants will benefit from a range of support, including mentoring, networking opportunities, and business matchmaking, to help refine and commercialize their ideas.
The competition concludes by recognizing the top three solutions with significant cash prizes: US$ 69,591 (10 million yen) for first place, US$ 34,795 (5 million yen) for second place, and US$ 20,877 (3 million yen) for third place.
The Tokyo Financial Innovation Award not only celebrates outstanding ideas but also promotes collaboration and innovation within the financial industry, ultimately aiming to enhance financial services for the Tokyo community.

For companies selected after the First-Stage screening, EY Japan will provide support programs to brush up the products and services they develop and offer, including holding preliminary seminars, mentoring/business meetings, networking events, and business matching opportunities.
